Dr. Jordan Herbison is an accomplished practitioner and researcher in the field of sport psychology, with more than 8 years of experience as a mental performance consultant (MPC). He earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) specializing in sports psychology and group dynamics. Following the completion of his doctorate, Jordan held the McGill Sports Science Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education at McGill University (Montréal, Quebéc). Dr. Herbison has worked with athletes in a variety of sports and of all levels, from amateur to professional, helping them to develop their mental skills and enhance their performance. His approach combines evidence-based, person-centered practices with a deep understanding of the unique psychological and physical demands of sports.
Dr. Herbison has published numerous research articles on topics such overcoming adversity, team dynamics, motivation, talent identification and positive youth development. In addition to community-based research with local youth sport and parasport organizations, Jordan’s research has examined psycho-social concepts with professional athletes (e.g., National Hockey League, English Premier League Rugby and Soccer) and international sport organizations (e.g., Hockey Canada).
In addition to his work with atheltes and teams, Dr. Herbison is passionate about education and has taught courses in sport psychology and the social sciences at several universities (Vancouver Island University, Queen’s University, McGill University). Kye is a performance coach with a strong background in strength training and high-level athletics.
He has competed at a high level in basketball and is in his final year of his BBA at Vancouver Island University, Kye attended St. Francis Xavier University, where he was part of a U SPORTS national silver medal team, as well as earning a CCAA national silver medal with the VIU Mariners.These experiences have shaped his approach to training, giving him a strong understanding of what it takes to stay consistent, build strength, and perform at a high level.
With over five years of experience in weight training, Kye focuses on keeping training simple, effective, and results-driven. He works with clients of all experience levels, helping them improve strength, move better, and feel more confident in the gym.
He aims to create an environment that is both challenging and supportive, while helping clients stay consistent and see real progress over time.

With a deep passion for therapeutic touch and holistic wellness, Abby brings years of experience in both massage and yoga. Mariah is a born-and-raised islander who brings a love for human movement and a foundation in kinesiology, strength development, and mobility training to the team at Prime’. She holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology from Vancouver Island University and is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. She prioritizes evidence-based practice and is always upgrading her skill set as a coach.
Mariah’s coaching philosophy is rooted in “movement for life” - building the strength, mobility, and capacity to do what you love for as long as possible. She works with a wide range of clients and is driven by helping individuals overcome limitations and unlock movement that supports your body and mind for life.
Having previously spent time observing under the Prime’ team during her undergraduate degree, Mariah values the collaborative community and is excited to support anyone that steps into the gym! Kyle Salloum
Dr. Kyle Salloum grew up in Nanaimo after moving from Calgary shortly after he was born. Growing up on the island he has a love for any and all outdoor activities. He participated in many sports throughout the years including soccer - playing for Nanaimo United, rugby, and basketball. In his down time, Dr. Salloum enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, golfing, and surfing. After graduating from Dover Bay, Dr. Salloum attended Vancouver Island University working towards a Bachelor of Science with a focus on Biology. In 2014 he spent the next 4 years in Toronto at the Canadian memorial Chiropractic College. At CMCC he was a member of the students’ council, academic affairs council, dean’s council, and the joint health and safety task force. In his internship he participated in running the Canadian pilot for the GLA:D (Good Life with osteoArthritis: Denmark) program. From his own experiences as an athlete, Dr. Salloum has always had an interest in sports injuries; however, during his internship at CMCC he also became passionate about chronic pain and pain pathology. Dr. Salloum believes in the evidence based medicine model; combining patient values, clinical experience, and the best available evidence to make decisions about patient care. He uses his knowledge of the human body and diagnostic skills in conjunction with manual medicine including joint manipulations and mobilizations, soft tissue therapies, postural and functional alterations, as well as an extensive knowledge of exercises, nutrition, and supplementation to help reduce pain, improve function, and allow his patients to live their best quality of life and perform optimally. Konrad Teetzen
Konrad grew up in Quesnel, BC, where living in northern British Columbia fostered a strong appreciation for outdoor activities and sport. He was actively involved in a variety of sports from a young age, with a particular focus on soccer and biathlon/skiing. His early experiences as both an athlete and a patient in physiotherapy clinics inspired him to pursue a career in physiotherapy. Outside of the clinic, Konrad enjoys staying active through soccer, mountain biking, running, and skiing.
Konrad completed his Master of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia as part of the Northern cohort in 2023. Prior to this, he completed his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation from Simon Fraser University. He takes an evidence-informed approach to care, combining exercise, hands-on treatment, and education to help patients build independence and support long-term participation in sport, activity, and daily life.
